294-Jane sees this couple outside the church and enter in later on while the wedding goes on. When the priest asks if anyone objects to the ceremony, one of the strangers answers: “The marriage cannot go on: I declare the existence of an impediment.”

Mostly upset because Mr. Reed showed Jane more love than his own children. Jane was greatly loved as a child and so must suffer through adolescence and now she is reaching the bottom of her valley with the apparent marriage between Rochester and Blanche
